Robert Bowling and Sledgehammer Games' Michael Condrey spoke at a good length about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 while demoing the title. The beginning of our preview was lead by an introduction to the level known as 'Black Tuesday'.
You have just crash-landed into New York City, and from the second you step out of the downed helicopter you are under fire. Mr. Robert Bowling said that “We've tweaked the engine and made the game even more beautiful and powerful than previous entries.”
When asked about the multiplayer portion, Mr. Bowling said that he couldn't talk about it at the current time, but that a lot of the single player elements could be related to the multiplayer elements in this iteration. The person conducting the interview noted at one point that the set pieces were simply enormous, and that the 'new' Infinity Ward was really doing the series justice.
Continuing on that note, Mr. Michael Condrey went on to say “We were really riding on the shoulders of greatness because of Modern Warefare 2.” This really shows us that the new team at Infinity Ward cares for the game just as much as the last, and the two developers did say that they had been paying a lot of attention to feedback from the industry and its customers over the past couple of weeks.
Like the 'Uncharted' series, Infinity Ward wants to give us a great 'cinematic' experience. The large set pieces noted earlier in this interview pay homage to this new take on the series. Follow Delta Force's adventures later this year on November 8th.
